Is it Summer Yet? April Showers Edition
Everyday closer to Summer means there will be more East Coast skating to feast on. Nothing against the West Coast, but the more footage from the North East states recovering from the colder temperatures, the better. With that being said, all of the following videos showcase what we miss out on by not heading to the warmer side of the country.
First Video up is Evan Smith X Chris Ray Collab for Transworld’s Cinematographer Project (Blog post to follow on the video). If you want to see the whole thing you can download it here – courtesy of Os Dias do Video. While i may disagree with Ray’s choice of music, Evan Smith can’t help but get good tricks. This is creativity at its finest – 2:20 and 3:32 :
Two introduction videos in the lineup this week. Huf Footwear introduces Josh Matthews working his way through SF. First clips says it all:
Etnies introduced Nick Garcia to their squad with this video (turn off the sound and put on something good because the music is terrible):
As the Think Skateboards video “Business as Usual” is released today, there should be some time to check out their flow rider Joey Guevara destroy everything he touches:

Last but not least – the honorable mentions go to: Antihero’s new catalog video featuring Frank Gerwer showcasing his amazingess. Love the advertising techniques over at Antihero. Which reminds me, check out the Peter Hewitt featurette over at the Chrome Ball. Finally, Street League sucks, but the video selections for the contestants are ridiculously good. The Jimmy Carlin and Ishod Wair videos make it a premature win.
World Travelers : End of March Skate Scene
It seems like March is the opening month of the skate season, when everyone skates their home spots and travels out to the ones they’ve waited all winter to get. With that being said, the end of March video collection features skating in NYC, SF, Austin, England/Spain, and China. Feed that need:

Making waves across the country, Thrasher Magazine shows up with their Death Match 2012 tour to Austin, TX with the Antihero team. I couldn’t ask for anything more with Andrew Allen, Julien Stranger, Robbie Russo, Frank Gerwer, Ryan McWhirter aka Peabody, and Tony Miorana:
From SF to New York, coast to coast, Slap Magazine kills it with their skate media. Colin Read’s New York Clip series is no different and #18 with Piro Sierra, Ryan Barlow, Matt Town, Billy McFeely, TJ Sparks, Brett Nelson, and Brett Conti crushing NYC, SLAP continues the ride:
Crossing the Atlantic, RVCA dropped some short coverage on their recruit Barney Page. Editing on this is good and the spot difference between England and Spain is crazy. The line at 1:04 puts this over the edge:
Last but not least – Thrasher’s China Skate Rock tour has turned some heads and not just for the questionable editing – but also for the sheer bad assness of the whole event – good music, killer skating, and all around good times. When they say in the caption “This is one of the wildest trips we’ve been on.” The footage proves it.

March Madness Week: Catching Up with the Media
The Tweek blog has had a short hiatus but is back for the middle of March updates. Looking back over the past few weeks, these are the videos that stood out. Starting first with the relatively unknown company Polar Skate Co. headed by the one and only Pontus Alv of In Search of the Miraculous fame. Up to this promo they weren’t in the game, but this solidifies their position quite nicely. Check the 180 no-comply grind. Do not mess with this technique:
The next two videos I am grouping together for their Pittsburgh connections. The coverage of OneUp skateshop team riders is blowing up lately and the next two videos proves there are good reasons for the hype. First up is the Austin Kanfoush friendly OneUp shop 2012 Promo:
And then 5BORO’s Flow Trash Friday Video featuring Nick Panza (also from OneUP) murdering Pittsburgh local spots and some famous NYC ones as well.
The blog’s frequent East Coast bias takes a backseat for the Riley Hawk Rides for Lakai video – stepping out from his dad’s shadow and making his own way. No denying this is some raw street skating (complete VX edit… sadly this is worth noting, especially for Lakai):
If you haven’t been keeping up with Slap Magazine’s Map Masquerade Tour then you’ve been blowing it. Raising the bar high for tour videos, I’ll keep it simple with the San Francisco edit for your viewing pleasure. Ending with park footage is always a little sketchy, but Raven Tershy has no qualms with absolutely destroying Double Rock so I have none posting it:

Thrasher Magazine’s Archival Hellride edits are amazing and the Northhampton England 1993 video is no different. Finally, Venture and Theeve have a non-acknowledged battle of the street edits with Danny Falla and Silvester Eduardo’s “Black-Top” truck endorsement and Benny Fairfax’s welcome to the team edit.

Two Weeks in Heaven…and February
The following videos were compiled over the first two weeks of February and they absolutely killed it. For the beginning of the year, I think we have the some of the best videos so far. First up has to be the Thrasher Magazine’s Joey Digital Montage featuring Koston, Keegan, Brock, Donnelly, Plunkett, Nugget, P-Rod, Wieger, and BA, all – killing it.
Uploaded the same day as the Joey Digital Montage, came this out of the heavens and by that I mean Slap Magazine’s media crew. The San Francisco Treat #6 goes hard featuring a list of you’ve never heard ofs’ (unless you’re from the Bay Area presumably) featuring Daniel Spiro, Joe Andrews, Nich Kunz, Dillon Buss, Charles Rivard, Kai Gormsen, and Charlie Pravel.
Speaking of San Francisco, the new FTC’s video will blow minds. Here’s the VX Part 1 promo featuring: Jack Curtin, Brian Delatorre, Jabari Pendleton, Joey Johnson, David de los Santos, Ray Maldanado, Nate Keegan, Marcus McBride, Marquise Henry, Dave Abair, Karl Watson, and Adrian Williams among many more. Can’t wait for this:
Before I go overboard with the Thrasher edits, I have to say that the hype was all too true for this. I’ll rescind my previous mention, but Friday Night Fight was definitely the best Double Rock yet. Shout out to Austin Kanfoush, a Pittsburgh local making it to the show. The others featured make the video what it is – Andy Roy, Tony Miorana, Sean Gutierrez, Ryan McWhirter, and Pat McLain.
Last, but not least, Vox Footwear’s Where the Vox Are We? Part 1 video is East Coast Destruction featuring Dave Bachinsky and Cody McEntire among Matt Fenell, Brendan O’Conner, Sean Hernandez , Justin Clement , John Desimas , and John Coyne ripping for 6 minutes plus.

This week, we’ll be keeping it short since everyone is going to Jamal’s mom’s wedding. Congratulations Jaunitsia! Let’s start off with the latest video to premier this week. Quartersnacks Remix of Ishod Wair’s Since Day One (presented by Real). Just watch the flow and check the technique – hangtime at 2:53 is ridiculous.
Thrasher brought this vid out of the archives – Hellride Alcobendas circa 1993. A Spain tour consisting of John Cardiel and Danny Sargent surpassing time and space. This could have been filmed last week and still would make headlines :

Jeremy Klein’s long awaited interview is up at the Chrome Ball Incident featuring questions relative to leaving World Industries and Steve Rocco for Tony Hawk and Birdhouse, Klein’s shared part with Heath Kirchart in The End, and his thoughts on the current state of skateboarding; further blowing minds with phrases like these :
